On March 15, our production of No Mean City: Baltimore 1966 closed a successful run of 9 sold-out performances in the Joseph and Rebecca Meyerhoff Auditorium at the Baltimore Museum of Art.
This world premier play by long-time Baltimore Sun columnist and Baltimore media personality weaves together the stories of racial tensions in Baltimore during the implementation of the Civil Rights Act, a progressive Republican mayor trying to do what he thinks is best for his city, and the historic run to the World Series by the Orioles, and their 4-Game sweep of the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Thanks to Emily Peterson for her positive review in MD Theatre Guide on March 7 and for her mention of my performance, stating "...While they only make short appearances, J.R. Hontz as Jerold Hoffberger and ... make strong, memorable impressions..."
Thanks to Dan for writing this plan, and for giving me the opportunity to work alongside this wonderful cast of professionals in bringing it to life for the first time.
